Explain what is meant by instant messaging email and bulletin boards

Email is the oldest online technology. It is very simple to use essentially a message is sent electronically to a post box on a mail server until an email client picks it up.
To email someone it is necessary to be connected to an email server.

Instant messaging (IM) is a form of real-time communication between two or more people based on typed text. The text is conveyed via computers connected over a network such as the Internet. Instant messaging requires an instant messaging client such as MSN Messenger. It differs from email as instant messaging is in real time.

Bulletin Boards are exactly what the name says it’s a place for people to leave public messages advertisements, event announcements or provide information.
